My name is Thomas Luce, and I teach martial arts in Portland, OR. Durring the day I write softare, at the moment for a great company, Cloudability.
I've lived all over the country, worked on all manner of projects, and done all manner of crazy things. At this phase in my life my hobbies are of course my martial arts (more than a hobby, really), parkour, shooting all manner of guns, playing table-top role-playing games, and generally ranting about things that crop up into my head from time to time.
I am a practicing Buddhist, having taken vows under Stephen K. Hayes. I use this blog largely as a view back to times when maybe I didn't speak rightly... ;-) Daily meditation, either actively "on the cushion", or as a daily focus on a particular metal skill is a large part of my life, and I try to bring that focus into my other activities.
My goals for the near future are to buy a chunk of land someplace in Southern Oregon, build a house, and retire a small-hold farmer/homesteader. Thankfully, my wife doesn't find that too insane, so I think it might actually happen.
